Basic Skills Program

The Basic Skills Program serves our most challenged clients, using goal-oriented methods to help clients develop and maintain basic life functional skills. This program is designed to maximize a person's independence through training in such areas as self care, socialization, communication, leisure and vocational skills. Participants engage in at least one to two community activities per week. Community outings are designed to stress mobility and community travel skills. Outings utilize and build on skills in the areas of cognitive, personal care, work assimilation, arts, and domestic skills. Community outings include:

Colorado History Museum
Museum of Natural History
Denver Art Museum
Dahlia Public Library
Skyland Recreation Center
Zion Community Center
Liggins Tower Garden Program
Food Bank Program of Colorado
Greater Park Hill Food Co-op
